What Happened with Domo Developments?
Domo Developments presented itself as a property investment opportunity for retail investors. The directors were well known within the property investment circuit, regularly attended industry events, and promoted their expertise through a series of YouTube videos. Many investors were introduced to the scheme through property events and training sessions.
The premise was that investors could lend money to Domo Developments, which would then purchase, redevelop, and rent or sell properties — with investors receiving a percentage return.
In reality, unknown to investors, millions of pounds was funnelled into an unregulated investment scheme called Black Capital Partners, which is widely regarded as fraudulent. The directors of both Domo Developments and Black Capital Partners held major shareholdings in a linked company called Domo Partners (formerly SARS Homes Ltd) since 2019.
Domo Developments was subsequently placed into administration by one of its creditors. It has been alleged that the directors provided administrators with false contact details for creditors, further complicating the process for investors seeking answers.
