Our fees

We only work to a no-win, no-fee commitment and never charge upfront fees. We charge between 15-25% (+VAT) based on the amount of money you get back.

Our fee is capped at £10,000 (+VAT) for larger cases, where the bank pays back £66,666 or more.

How our fee works

The more the bank pays you back, the smaller the percentage we charge. Each band has a cap, so the percentage only ever falls, and our fee never goes above £10,000 (+VAT).

Our no-win, no-fee commitment means you don’t pay a single penny upfront. And if your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t owe us anything either. There are no hidden fees or admin charges.

You’ll only pay us a fee once your claim is successful and the bank or Financial Ombudsman Service confirm you’re receiving money back. And our fee is only due after you’ve received your money.

How and when we will charge you

We want our fees to be totally transparent, so here’s some more information on them.

Nothing to pay

You start your claim

We never charge upfront, and there is nothing to pay while we work on your case. You can cancel free of charge at any time until your case becomes successful. To cancel, call us on 020 4525 4600 or email enquiries@refundee.com.

Our fee becomes chargeable

Your case is successful

“Successful” is the moment you are notified that your case is likely to succeed, or is going to succeed, at any time after we contact the bank or the Financial Ombudsman Service. From this point our fee is chargeable, even if you later cancel.

3
Our fee becomes payable

You receive your money

You are only asked to pay once you have received your money. Refunds sometimes arrive in stages, for example half from the bank and half from the Ombudsman later. We charge as each refund arrives.

Three examples of a successful case

  1. We notify you that your case has been upheld, or is going to be upheld, at any stage at the Financial Ombudsman Service or by the bank.
  2. Your bank or the Financial Ombudsman Service notify you that your case is going to be upheld.
  3. You are in contact with a group of victims of the same or a similar scam and become aware that the Financial Ombudsman Service or bank is upholding cases like yours. For instance, the FOS has ruled that the matter you lost money to is an APP scam and is therefore covered by the Contingent Reimbursement Model Code or Mandatory Reimbursement.

Representing yourself

You have the right to pursue a claim through your bank and the Financial Ombudsman Service yourself, without paying a fee. You don’t have to use our services, or any claims management company, if you don’t want to.

If you’d like some help, we can help you understand your options and manage the claims process from start to finish. Enquiries are free and there is no obligation.
