On the 18th of August 2026, the insolvency service released a press release confirming that they have taken actions to shut down the reported unauthorised crypto investment firm named Key Coin Assets Ltd.

The insolvency service have reported the following regarding Key Coin Assets Ltd:

  • Key Coin Assets Ltd promised returns up to 100%, but investors lost hundreds of thousands of pounds
  • Insolvency Service investigations found no evidence of genuine trading
  • The Insolvency Service and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) are warning investors to be vigilant about similar offers

The official receiver has since been appointed as the liquidator of Key Coin Assets Ltd with investors looking for answers on how to recover their money.

What Does This Mean For Investors?

As Refundee previously reported, we are currently helping investors of Key Coin Assets Ltd recover their funds through UK banking regulations.

It is important to note that the liquidation process does not affect your ability to make a claim through your bank and both processes can run alongside each other.

Refundee has extensive experience and success in recovering funds for clients through group action cases. We have recovered over £140 million for our clients so far, with a large proportion coming from group action cases.

Who can Refundee help?

If you sent the funds from a UK bank account then Refundee may be able to help through Authorised Push Payment (APP) rules, including the Contingent Reimbursement Code (CRM) and the Mandatory Reimbursement Model.

If you have been affected then Refundee can give you honest and clear steps on recovering your funds.
